Who We Are

Intercede Mediation/ADR Services is a group of highly qualified alternative dispute resolution professionals. Many are retired trial court judges, some are experienced teachers of mediators, and others are successful trial attorneys who have extensive experience as mediators and as arbitrators. All of us are committed to assisting in the resolution of disputes through alternatives to litigation.

What Do We Do? We offer several services:

We provide exceptionally well-qualified professionals to act as mediators in Court-Ordered Mediations. When a party to a mediation requests the appointment of one of our mediators, we will work to obtain the consent of all parties to that appointment. We will also ask the Court to appoint the chosen mediator, and will assist in scheduling the mediated settlement conference. We will request extensions of time when necessary and otherwise act as mediation coordinators. This service is especially valuable in complex cases.

We help organizations Avoid Litigation through the design and implementation of Internal Dispute Resolution Systems. We have developed systems to support public and private organizations that are seeking to resolve conflicts themselves, rather than relying on courts, government agencies and other third parties.

We train individuals in mediation and principled negotiation. We offer mediator certification courses that have been approved by the North Carolina Dispute Resolution Commission and the South Carolina Circuit Court.

In cases where mediation and negotiation are not options, our experienced professionals can conduct arbitrations.
